Why do people smoke in public???????

I've asked myself at least thousand times & still the answer eludes me.Yesterday a middle aged, well educated man took the count to 1001.

My mom had forced me to take heavy bag of vegetables to my aunt's place & it was a flooded train compartment (It's been ages since someone have mentioned about an empty train compartment......it must be like heaven!).My body had assumed minimum possible volume & my lungs were denied of oxygen due to external pressure exerted by my co-passengers which by God's mercy were huge.I was almost lost in that small compartment & was hoping that the same pressure would force me out of train on desired location.

As if my troubles weren't enough there comes a man.Middle aged & oil on his enough for a plate of Rava (only VJTIans would know what I mean!).He takes out a cigarette, lights it in heroic style & starts smoking!I was hardly able to stand & that person was standing on foot board & smoking without any regret. My lungs desperate for Oxygen were now fighting out to keep all the gases originating from the cigarette away.I wondered as he continued his smoking nobody in compartment (including myself) showed any intention of stopping that defiant person.Probably because we Mumbaikars are immune to everything happening around us.

All the time I was juggling to avoid smoke & get some fresh air.At last I got out the train (Luckily on desired station!) & my body filled with fresh air (God..............that was bliss!).

Government has banned smoking in public but is there anyone out there to see whether the people abide by the law?Everyday I see many people smoking on road, trains. Will anybody stop this????????

I don't want to be a forced smoker because of actual smokers.........
